Help Your Hangover with Essential Oils
So you had one too many drinks last night… or several. Shame on you! If you wake up and you’re feeling less than spectacular, then there are a few essential oils that can help you out.
Lemon
Lemon essential oil is great for detoxifying your liver and entire body, plus it helps clear your mind.
Peppermint
Peppermint essential oil can reduce nausea, increase your focus, clear out a headache, and enables clarity of thought.
Orange
Orange essential oil energizes, awakens and lifts your mood.
Lavender
Lavender essential oil decreases swelling and inflammation, thus calming aches and pains, it works well for headaches and your entire body.
How to Use These Essential Oils for a Hangover
Massage a few drops of any or all of peppermint, lavender, or lemon across your forehead, into your temples, and on the back of your head to soothe your headache (don’t forget to dilute with a carrier oil if needed).
You can add 8 or so drops of lemon to around 3 teaspoons of oil and massage all over your body for an overall nourishment that settles your nerves and boosts your energy.
You can diffuse (or place a few drops in your hands and breathe in) any or all of the essential oils to help with your symptoms.
And the best for last: Put 3 drops each of Lemon, Peppermint, and Orange in a tall glass of cool water (10-16 ounces) and sip over the course of 30-45 minutes. Refill the glass with additional water (no need for more essential oils, there will still be a little left in the glass). Sip the rest as desired.
